What People Say
Most Liked
Patrons rave about the massive and flavorful carne asada tacos that are a hallmark of Los Andanes, often considered a must-try dish. The complimentary chips and salsa receive consistent praise for their quality, setting the stage for an enjoyable meal. Many diners appreciate the friendly and attentive service, which adds a personal touch to each visit. The fresh ingredients used in the dishes, particularly the horchata and freshly made tortillas, are highlighted as exceptional. Regulars often express their love for the cozy atmosphere that fosters community and connection, making it a go-to spot for gatherings.
Most Disliked
Some diners mention that the tortillas can be a bit thick, though this is subjective and some enjoy them just as they are. A few have pointed out that the restroom cleanliness, although generally good, could use more frequent checks during busy hours. Limited seating can make for a cozy experience, which might not suit those seeking more space or privacy during their meal. On rare occasions, patrons have mentioned that the wait times for food can increase significantly during peak hours, so it’s advisable to visit during off-peak times, if possible. A few reviews noted that specific dishes may vary slightly in flavor from visit to visit, possibly due to the variability in preparation on busier days.

Omgggg this place was SO good. My friends and I wanted to support a Belmont Cragin small business and this did NOT disappoint. The carne asada tacos sent me straight to heaven and they were HUGE!!! So worth the money. The service was also really great! I can’t wait to go back.
Hello
I had a great feeling about this place based on the reviews. I was craving Mexican food in Wicker Park, and it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant was clean, and the owner was so kind. The food was fresh and made to order—the chips, salsa, and guacamole were delicious, and my friend’s steak tacos were packed with meat. The horchata was the best I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely return when I’m in the city. This family-owned business definitely deserves the attention. Must-try place!

Very good complimentary chips and salsa. My husband’s chorizo omelette had plenty of meat and had a good balance of spices (not too spicy, though). He loved the side potatoes and I thought they were good. Fresh tortilla (a bit thick, but good) on my steak quesadilla. Steak was very tasty. Friendly hostess/waitress. Very clean restroom (always a sign). We were there on a Friday around noon and after eating there, we were surprised they were not busier. This was our first visit- this just may be an anomaly, but if you are in the area you should definitely try them out. We enjoyed it very much and felt the prices were reasonable for quality and quantity.

This place is so great. Their business is suffering, to no fault of their own - please consider supporting them. Best chips and guac I’ve ever had. I got a taco dinner with three different meats, and they were all tender and well seasoned. The salsa verde is uniquely flavored The portions are huge. And the owner is so sweet and kind.

First time trying take-out from this nice little restaurant in Belmont Cragin, and it was so delicious! The Flautos as an appetizer was excellent- fresh pico de gallo and avocado on top. Also the chicken enchiladas were great, sauce was tasty and good amount of food, I think 4-5 enchiladas! Also tried the steak Torta. We’ll definitely be back to try more! Service was very fast and friendly

The food is incredibly fresh and well seasoned. I especially love the tacos al pastor and the quesabirria with consome! The meat is so tender and juicy!
